Graffiti removal slows during winter months…
Do you ever get that feeling that graffiti is increasing everywhere you go? During a morning news meeting last week – that was our thought too. Especially for the area along Lincoln and 2nd in downtown Spokane.
Graffiti removal needs to keep pace with graffiti vandalism.
We spoke with Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, Eric Walker, their graffiti removal abatement officer, and he says there has not been an increase, but during the winter months there is a slower removal rate.
There should never be a slower graffiti removal rate! The graffiti vandals don’t slow down! Why should the graffiti removal abatement teams slack off? The key to successful graffiti removal programs is keeping on top of the vandalism and making sure it’s removed as quickly as it is put up. Elite graffiti removers like taginator and tagaway work even in the cold winter months and should be in the arsenal of the graffiti fighters.
“This is pretty common during the colder months of the year,” Walker wrote in an email. He continued, “The building owner on Lincoln across from the spaghetti place has been working hard to remove all the graffiti from their building – which is a daunting task.”
Instead of letting graffiti just sit attracting even more activity – it’s best to report it to Crime Check so it can be removed and documented as quickly as possible. For more information about reporting graffiti, the Sheriff’s Office has an informational page to share what you can do to help.
